Oklahoma Mens and Women’s Basketball Teams Using TRI-STRETCH®

The following is a blog from ealier this year. I am reposting secondary to my links to all of the social networking sites from my blog appeared to not be working at that time.

Boasting legendary coaches and players throughout its history, Oklahoma University has churned out successful teams and individuals on an annual basis.

The University of Oklahoma strength and conditioning staff is dedicated to providing a totally sound strength and conditioning program for both male and female student-athletes.

The objective of the strength and conditioning program at the University of Oklahoma is to ensure each student-athlete in every sport is provided with sound in-season and off-season programs. This program of activity includes strength, conditioning, flexibility, and nutrition. TRI-STRETCH® is now part of their progressive functional training including utilizing TRI-STRETCH® for dynamic warmup before games.

At OU , a strength and conditioning coordinator for each sport is provided to allow athletes the ability to reach the highest training levels.  For the mens and women’s basketball teams it is Jozsef Szendrei.

Szendrei,  was a Sooners center for the 2000-01 through 2002-03 seasons. Szendrei returned to his alma mater after spending  two years at Texas Tech as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the Red Raiders football team.  After graduating from OU in 2003 with a degree in international business (he minored in marketing), Szendrei continued his playing career for three years in Switzerland, Hungary and Spain.  He returned to the U.S. to play for former OU assistant coach Bob Hoffman and the Arkansas Aeros of the American Basketball Association and then entered the strength and conditioning field.

Known for his work ethic and spirit while at Oklahoma, Szendrei was a member of OU teams that claimed Big 12 Tournament titles in 2001, 2002 and 2003.  He played for the 2001-02 and 2002-03 seasons for OU squads that went a combined 58-12 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Final Four and the Elite Eight, respectively.

Szendrei has been instrumental in bringing TRI-STRETCH® to the Sooners and we will be working closely to bring the full potential of TRI-STRETCH® training techniques to the University of Oklahoma athletes.
